Finding Joy

Finding Joy

This is a piece for an artwork challenge on the scrapbook site that I frequent. The host submits 3 pieces of art and the players choose which one that speaks to them, then recreate a layout using the painting as an inspiration.

I love the way it turned out. The picture is from last summer on my backporch swing.

Thanks for looking. ;-) Feel free to comment.

I love your scrapbook layout!!! Wow!!! It turned out great! I love to scrapbook - it is so addictive, but at least I can feel that it is worth while because I am preserving pictures while I create :)

You're so talented. I hate you. KIDDING! My hobbies include shopping, shopping and oh yeah, scuba diving.

If you tell me you made the quilt too, I'm gonna have to kick your ass. (it's that cynicism again)

The bottom one makes me think of Miro. Very nice, as always. I am going to have to get out a thesaurus to come up with better words. :D

Hi Janemma! I know exactly what you mean about scrapbooking being addictive! I've been addicted for almost 10 years now.. You should see all of my "real" pages. I love the thought of my grandkids looking thru my books and reading the journaling, learning something new about their mom and dad. Very cool!!

Know why I luv you? Cuz you make me LAUGH!! lmao!

Thank goodness, I won't have to endure an ass kicking.. the quilt was made by my granny. :D

ps. I would LOVE to learn how to scuba dive! I went snorkeling alot when I was a kid (My parents were scuba divers) and I went once in Mexico with Chris. Nothing I can really crow about though.. Maybe you should tell us some stories!!

You seen my diving pics in my photobucket? Diving is really fun but it's addictive and expensive...

I was supposed to spend a couple of weeks in Freeport (Bahamas) this summer to get my instructor certification - but I will have to put that off I guess. When you get above the "average diver" and into the more advanced stuff - the guy to girl ratio is like 10 to 1! Whoo hoo!

My great aunt (for all purposes my grandmother) made me a quilt too. Unfortunately, it doesn't go wtih my colors - so it's in safe storage at my mum's. I really didn't appreciate how much it was made out of love for me when I was a kid...

That's cool that you still have it though! I have different stuff from 3 grandmas and 1 great grandma. Ranging from doilies, afghans, quilts, and pillow cases. I love them!

That's the first real pic that's given me a real good idea of who you are. I luv the scrapbook.... the vivid colours just make it look all like "street" or "urban" ART!! Nice one Jenn! ;)

More to you than meets the eye then? Bit of Street-cred applied to your Art... who knows we might have to go into business on the real!! :)

Look at you! Hot Momma with the strap all hanging off your shoulder. ;)

I love how you found a pic that went with those colors. It looks like it was meant to be there.

What did you have in mind? You pedal my designs? ;-)

Wouldn't that be awesome to actually do something you love? I sooo envious Jen (islandartist) for being able to do what she loves and mak money at it.

My Mom loves to quilt, although she doesn't do it anymore.. But, I don't think I would have the patience. (too high strung. lol)

The only thing I did to that pic was add 1 degree of color saturation. To brighten up the quilt. It goes so well though! I was very happy with the outcome... Can't wait for my Mom to see it.

Signed,
One hot momma
